    The Rolls-Royce of freediving socks

The outstanding features of the Mares Flex Gold 30 Ultrastretch socks are:

    • 3mm thick Ultrastretch neoprene
    • Exterior coated with nylon, interior Open-Cell with gold coating
    • Double-layered sole with reinforced exterior
    • Preformed cut

The Mares Flex Gold 30 Ultrastretch socks are unique and the best you can find on the market!

Why you should never freedive without socks

When freediving, you should always wear socks: Due to the large blades of freediving fins, a strong force is created between the foot and the fin. On bare skin, this can quickly lead to sore spots, especially during long training sessions in the pool. On vacation in saltwater, a small spot on the foot can quickly turn into a painful wound, ruining the rest of your holiday.

Be careful when entering and exiting the water

Be especially careful when climbing over rocks to get into the water! Don't be ashamed to crawl on all fours and don't try to imitate Reinhold Messner. Neoprene socks are not mountain shoes! The grip of the sock's exterior on the rock is often better than the grip of the sock's interior on your foot. It can happen that your sock gets stuck on the rock while your foot slides forward inside the sock. Be a hero at home during static training on the couch, but not when entering and exiting the water!

Tip: Fins for summer and winter

The Mares Flex Gold 30 Ultrastretch socks are ideal for the warm season when you want to feel free and light. For winter in the lake, there are the Mares Flex Gold 50 Ultrastretch socks, which offer even more warmth and insulation. My recommendation: Choose the foot pocket of your fins to fit the 3mm socks. This way, you have the best power transfer and feel for training in the pool. When you switch to the 5mm socks in winter, the foot pocket of the fins may be too tight. This makes it difficult to put on and take off the fins after the dive, especially with cold fingers and thick gloves. Alternatively, I recommend buying a second pair of fins with a larger foot pocket for winter training in the lake. In winter, you don't dive to great depths in the lake, so a cheap pair of second-hand plastic fins from my webshop will suffice. Your super-duper carbon fins can have fun in the pool and eagerly
