Whether you're new to water sports or have SCUBA diving experience, freediving is the perfect way to explore the ocean's vastness or local lakes in a new and intense way. At freediving-thurgau, we offer custom courses dedicated exclusively to freediving. Unlike many dive schools that primarily focus on SCUBA diving, we provide you with 100% freediving-oriented training, with the goal of offering you the best support and expertise to safely develop your skills.

Your Introduction to Pool Freediving – The Basic Freediver Course

The Basic Freediver course is the perfect starting point for anyone who wants to try freediving. You don’t need prior experience – just good health, basic fitness, and the ability to swim 200 meters in one go. In this course, you'll learn the theoretical foundations of apnea diving and immediately apply what you've learned in the pool. Sign up now, pay the course fee, and dive straight into the fascinating world of freediving with eLearning. On the course day, you’ll learn special breathing techniques to lower your heart rate, maximize your lung volume, and stay calm underwater for long periods.

Experience Freediving in Pool and Lake – The Freediver Course

If you're ready to experience the full beauty of freediving, the Freediver course is the right step for you. This two-day intensive course will allow you to dive in both pool and open water. On the first day, you'll review and deepen the basics from eLearning and practice in the pool. On the second day, you'll learn to safely dive with a buoy or rope and master equalization techniques for deep diving.

Advanced Freediving – Explore New Depths

After about a year of training in pool and open water, you’ll notice your skills have developed, allowing you to explore greater depths. The Advanced Freediver course takes you deeper into the world of apnea diving, improving your breath control, equalization, and mental preparation techniques. If you choose the PADI Advanced Freediver course, you’ll need to add the Emergency First Response course unless you've completed first aid training in the last two years. The SSI Advanced Freediver course, on the other hand, doesn’t require additional first aid training.

PADI or SSI – Which Training System Suits You?

Both PADI and SSI offer high-quality, comparable freediving courses. Their teaching methods and content are similar, ensuring top-notch training with either system. If you already have PADI certifications, it makes sense to stick with PADI to keep all your certifications in one app and have a single point of contact. If you’re new to freediving, however, I recommend the SSI system, as it's often more cost-effective while providing the same professional training.
