What does the SSI Freediver Course offer you?
In the SSI Freediver Course, you will:

Course Objectives
The goal of the SSI Freediver Course is to impart theoretical knowledge (through eLearning and classroom instruction) and develop fundamental skills in the following disciplines:
- Static (static breath-hold at the surface)
- Dynamic (distance diving with bi-fins)
- Free Immersion (pulling yourself down a line)
- Constant Weight (diving down with bi-fins)
All skills are practiced in both the pool and open water up to a depth of 16 meters. Additionally, you will learn how to assist other freedivers in the pool and open water and how to respond appropriately to emergencies.
Course Requirements
- Minimum age: 12 years
- Ability to swim 200 meters continuously
- Medical fitness, and a medical certificate may be required for diving fitness.
- No prior experience in snorkeling, scuba diving, or freediving is required.
Required Equipment
You will need the following equipment (included in the course fee):
- Swimwear (Women: bikini or swimsuit; Men: swim trunks, ideally Speedos)
- Open-Cell Freediving Neoprene Suit
- Low-volume mask
- Snorkel
- Flexible weight belt
- Coated lead weights
- Neoprene socks (you can keep them after the course)
- Freediving fins
- Lanyard
The course fee includes the rental of complete freediving equipment, meals, drinks, and pool entry. Our philosophy is that you can only fully experience freediving with the right equipment. No hidden costs! After the course, you will have the opportunity to purchase your entire equipment at a fair price and start training immediately.
Course Locations and Times
Day 1 Morning: Felben-Wellhausen near Frauenfeld (Theory)
Day 1 Afternoon: Rheinau, Aquarina pool (pool skills)
Day 2: Steckborn, Seeschulhaus, Seestrasse 126 or by appointment.
Times:
Saturday: Arrival between 08:30 and 09:00; course starts at 09:00 in Felben-Wellhausen, ends around 18:00 in Rheinau.
Sunday: Start at 09:00 in Steckborn, course ends around 17:30 in Steckborn or Rheinau.
