SSI Advanced Freediver Course: Your step into advanced freediving

The SSI Advanced Freediver Course offers you the opportunity to take your freediving skills to the next level. Perfect your techniques in the disciplines of Static, Dynamic, Free Immersion, and Constant Weight – in the pool and open water – up to a maximum depth of 24 meters.

Course Objective

This course expands your theoretical knowledge and practical skills. If you dive regularly but feel like you've hit a plateau, this is the course to help you progress. Learn to optimally prepare your body and mind for dives, refine your technique, and push your limits. It’s not just about depth records but about improving your personal performance and getting the best out of yourself.

What to expect in the SSI Advanced Freediver Course:

• Refining your breathing technique to dive longer and more relaxed.
• Maximizing the efficiency of your dives through improved technique in static and dynamic apnea.
• Introduction to advanced diving methods such as Free Immersion and descending with constant weight.
• Building confidence through advanced safety and rescue techniques, which you will practice with your dive buddy.

Course Content

• Theory: You will learn advanced freediving techniques and how to use your equipment optimally. The theory is covered through SSI eLearning before the course and in classroom sessions with interactive discussions.
• Pool practice: Here, your static and dynamic apnea skills will be further developed, along with training in stretching and relaxation techniques.
• Open water practice: Deepening your freediving techniques with free descents and dives. You will also learn advanced buddy and rescue techniques as well as optimal equalization.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 15 years
• SSI Freediver certification or an equivalent certification from another organization
• Comfortable freediving to a depth of approximately 15 meters

Equipment

You are expected to have your own freediving equipment, including a lanyard. If you do not have your own gear, please contact me in advance to arrange rental equipment.

Course Location and Schedule

• Day 1 Morning: Theory session in Felben-Wellhausen near Frauenfeld
• Day 1 Afternoon: Pool training at the Aquarina indoor swimming pool in Rheinau
• Day 2: Open water training in Steckborn or another location by arrangement
