If I could only wear freediving goggles for the rest of my life, then it would be the Mares X-Free Mask! Get yourself one of the last masks now!
Do you love exploring the underwater world and are you looking for diving goggles that offer you comfort, safety and visibility? Then the Mares X-Free freediving mask is just the thing for you!
The Mares X-Free mask has been specially developed for women and freedivers with a narrow face. It adapts perfectly to any face shape and avoids unpleasant pressure on the forehead or the bridge of the nose. The mask has a minimalist design that reduces the internal volume and facilitates pressure equalisation. The lenses are made of tempered glass and offer you a clear and wide view. The mask strap is made of silicone and is easy to adjust.
The Mares X-Free mask is packed in a practical plastic box that protects your mask from scratches and dirt. The box also has space to store an anti-fogging agent or your car keys, for example.
I can especially recommend the Mares X-Free mask to women who love freediving. In my freediving courses I give all participants 2-3 masks to try out. I have found that in 9 out of 10 cases women choose the Mares X-Free. The Mares X-Free mask has only one disadvantage: it has been discontinued by Mares and replaced by a modified model. However, the X-Tream is slightly larger and no longer fits most female divers quite so perfectly. I was able to secure a few remaining stocks of the X-Free: But there aren't that many left!
So if you're looking for a mask that gives you the best freediving experience, order your Mares X-Free mask freediving mask today!
Pro tip: Trying on masks is an important skill and I believe that a freediver should know how to find the perfect mask for him or her. You press the mask lightly onto your face and hold your breath. If you create a negative pressure with your nose, then any mask will hold, so this is an unsuitable test! Therefore, without pulling the mask strap over your head, just press the mask on lightly: a perfectly fitting mask will stick to your face for a few seconds! If this is the case for you, you have found your dream mask, which was created for your face! If the mask falls off straight away, keep looking: somewhere in the world there is a freediving mask that suits you!
If you have a beard or moustache, you're in a bad position: none of the masks will stay on your face and later in the water you will constantly have water in your mask. This is particularly unpleasant in the overhead position, as the water will run down your nose and over your eyes. Your clean-shaven face looks much better ;-) If you don't want to do without your facial hair and still want to dive freely, then shave off a 5 mm strip under your nose so that the mask has some grip on your skin. Some divers also apply a thick layer of silicone grease to their moustache, but that's not a permanent solution either.
