Freediving Pool Training at the Aquarina Indoor Pool in Rheinau

Static, Dynamic, Monofin, and Dynamic No-Fins During the winter months, I offer a guided freediving pool training every Friday evening at the Aquarina indoor pool in Rheinau. This pool training covers various aspects that prepare you optimally for a successful freediving experience:

Warm-up

Prepare your body with yoga, stretching, lung stretching, as well as coordination and balance exercises.

Static (STA)

The focus is on relaxation, the Mammalian Dive Reflex (MDR), and CO2 tolerance. Exercises at the bottom of the dive pool with full and empty lungs activate and enhance the dive reflex. Additionally, they improve the flexibility of tissues involved in breathing and protect against injuries.

Equalization

In the dive pit, we train techniques such as Valsalva, Frenzel, and Mouthfill. We also practice the movements of the duck dive in the dive pool.

Dynamic Diving (DYN)

On the 25-meter lane reserved for us, we train with stereo fins (DYN-B), monofins (DYN), and DNF (Dynamic No-Fins). Silicone monofins are available, and you can obtain Monofin Pool and DNF Pool Specialty certifications (at the cost of the PADI certification fee).

Training Plans

At the beginning of the season, you set your personal goals (qualitative or quantitative), and I support you in achieving them. We optimize your technique, use video analyses, and work on your CO2 tolerance. You receive customized training plans to practice independently at home. During the season, we regularly check your progress and continuously work on your performance.

Playful Elements

Fun, joy, and ease are integral parts of the training – they are the key to success!

Number of Participants

To ensure optimal freediving pool training, the number of participants per group is limited to 8 people plus the instructor.

Participation Fee

The participation fee for the entire winter season is 250 CHF (plus admission to the indoor pool). Trial sessions or occasional participation are possible by arrangement. The fee for a single session is 20 CHF (plus admission to the indoor pool).

Responsibility and Rules

As a participant, you are responsible for your own safety and dive within your personal limits. Please adhere to the recognized freediving rules as taught by training organizations.

Registration or Cancellation for the Training

With the SportEasy app (available for iPhone and Android), you confirm your participation in Friday's training or cancel it. Your early registration or cancellation allows better planning of the training and makes free spots available for other freedivers.

Requirements

You need either the PADI Basic Freediver, SSI Pool Freediver, or an equivalent certification. We look forward to your participation and wish you a successful freediving experience!
