Squid Heavy Segment: Increase the weight of your Squid neck weight by 800g for perfect trim even with a thick wetsuit in cold water.
Is your Squid Pro neck weight of 1.3 kg not heavy enough to achieve the perfect trim in open water? With the Squid Heavy Segment: Increase the weight of your Squid neck weight by 800g for perfect trim even with a thick wetsuit in cold water., you have the option to increase the total weight of your Squid Pro neck weight from 1.3 kg to up to 2 kg, allowing you to better adapt it to your needs.
If you notice that you are not achieving the desired longitudinal stability in free fall with the standard Squid neck weight, the Squid Heavy Segment can be a valuable complement. By adding this additional weight, you increase the weight at the neck to up to 2 kg. This allows you to shift the weight further forward, which improves longitudinal stability. By increasing the weight at the neck, you simultaneously reduce the weight on your belt, so your total weight and buoyancy remain the same.
This forward shift of the center of gravity creates a stabilizing effect that helps you maintain an optimal position in open water. The Squid Heavy Segment is particularly useful when diving with thicker wetsuits in cold water, as these suits have more buoyancy and require additional weight adjustment to achieve the desired stability and trim position.
To install the Squid Heavy Segment on the Squid Pro, remove the last two plugs at the back. The Squid Heavy, with the correct side facing up (note the logo), is half-inserted into one hole, then pushed with some force into the second hole. This video shows how it works:
